It is a printed edition and not the live code, so an act passed after it went to press is not in it. Each question names its section and links to the page of that file where the section starts; on a phone, open the file and search for the section number. No exam-format fact (question count, pass mark, time limit) is stated, because none was confirmed on an Arkansas State Police page; Ark. Code 27-16-706 lists what the written test covers and 27-16-801 sets a $5.00 fee for each written examination. Licence: Own work. How it works
Ark. Code 27-16-704 has every applicant examined on the state's highway traffic laws. This unofficial Arkansas permit practice test asks 194 questions from that code. Each names its section and opens the state's printed 2025 edition at that page.

Permit at 14, intermediate license at 16
An instruction permit is open from 14, with a licensed driver of 21 or older in the next seat (27-16-802). At 16 the intermediate license allows one unrelated passenger under 21 and no driving between 11:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., apart from school, church, work and emergencies (27-16-804).
What the code says about the test
Section 27-16-706 lists topics, not a length: alcohol and drugs, accessible parking, traffic stops and work zones. With no count confirmed, Exam mode asks this site's 25 and shows a score with no pass or fail.
Stop at least 30 feet from a school bus showing its red lights; a conviction suspends the license for 21 days or more (27-51-1004, 27-51-1001).
Headlamps go on whenever the wipers run for rain or snow, and dim within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle (27-36-204, 27-36-211).
Under 18, even a hands-free phone is barred while driving; from 18 to 20, only hands-free is allowed (27-51-1603, 27-51-1604).
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the Arkansas permit test?
This page gives no figure. The Arkansas Code sets none: section 27-16-706 lists topics, and section 27-16-801 sets a $5 fee for each written examination. Ask the State Police testing site when you book. A passing score stays valid for 24 months (27-16-802).
How old do you have to be to get a permit in Arkansas?
Fourteen, under Ark. Code 27-16-802, once the written examination is passed. A licensed driver of 21 or older rides in the next seat, and every passenger wears a seat belt. The intermediate license starts at 16.
Is this the Arkansas State Police practice test?
No. This site is private and has never seen the state's question pool. Every question was written from the Arkansas Code as printed in the state's 2025 edition, read 30 September 2026.
What is the alcohol limit for an Arkansas driver under 21?
An alcohol concentration of 0.02 but less than 0.08 is driving under the influence while underage (Ark. Code 5-65-303), and a first offense suspends the license for 90 days. At 0.08 or more, section 5-65-103 applies to a driver of any age.
