How this list was compiled: Written from Title 27 of the Arkansas Code as printed in 'Arkansas Motor Vehicle and Traffic Laws and State Highway Commission Regulations, 2025 Edition', a compilation published by Blue360 Media for the State of Arkansas and hosted by the Arkansas Department of Transportation at https://ardot.gov/wp-content/uploads/Arkansas-Motor-Vehicle-2025-508-compliant.pdf, checked 2026-09-19. It is a printed edition and not the live code, so an act passed after it went to press is not in it. Each question names its section and links to the page of that file where the section starts; on a phone, open the file and search for the section number. Exam facts: the Arkansas State Police driver examination page, https://www.dps.arkansas.gov/law-enforcement/arkansas-state-police/services-programs/driver-examination/, checked 2026-09-19, gives no question count, pass mark or time limit for the motorcycle knowledge test, so none is given here. License classes and ages were also checked on https://www.dfa.arkansas.gov/office/driver-services/licenses-ids-permits/motorcycle-license/ the same day. Licence: Own work. Questions, answer choices and explanations were written for this site from the statute text; nothing is copied from the Arkansas Motorcycle Endorsement Study Guide, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation or another practice test.

How it works

All 116 questions in this unofficial Arkansas motorcycle permit practice test come from Title 27 of the Arkansas Code, each with its section. The answers are the state's own lines: 250 cubic centimeters splits Class M from Class MD, headgear ends at 21, eye protection never does. Riding technique is left to the state's study guide. Code read September 2026.

Where Arkansas law differs

Ark. Code § 27-20-101 draws its line at 250 cubic centimeters: above it a motorcycle and Class M from 16, at or below it a motor-driven cycle and Class MD from 14. This Arkansas motorcycle practice test skips lane sharing: no Title 27 section on it was found.

What the State Police and DFA publish

The Arkansas State Police driver examination page, checked September 2026, links a Motorcycle Endorsement Study Guide. It prints no question count, pass mark or time limit. The Department of Finance and Administration lists Class M at $40.00, while § 27-16-801 names $24.00 for the license and $5.00 for each written examination. DFA ends Class MD one month past the sixteenth birthday. The statute says on the birthday. With no official count, Exam mode's 25 questions are this site's choice, and the score has no pass or fail. Misses wait under Missed, and Clear my progress starts you over.

  • The Division of Arkansas State Police prescribes the examination (§ 27-20-108), and the rider course it names waives only the road test.
  • Pair each lamp with its distance: headlight and red rear lamp 500 feet, turn signals and stop lamp 100, plate light 50.
  • An autocycle driver of 18 or older needs only a driver's license under § 27-20-306, plus a seat belt.

Questions and answers

Can a motorcycle go through a red light in Arkansas?

In one situation. Ark. Code § 27-52-206 applies only where the signal uses a vehicle sensor that failed to detect the motorcycle because of its size or weight. The driver must come to a full and complete stop, exercise due care and proceed with caution when it is safe.

Do I need a helmet on a motorcycle in Arkansas?

Under 21, yes. Ark. Code § 27-20-104(b)(1) requires protective headgear for every operator and passenger unless the person is 21 or older. Subdivision (b)(2) has no age limit: glasses, goggles or a transparent face shield stay on at every age.

How close is this to the real Arkansas motorcycle test?

Close on the law and nowhere else. § 27-20-108 has the written examination cover traffic laws and the operation of these vehicles. This bank answers the first part from Title 27 and leaves the second to the State Police study guide. The page is private, tied to neither agency, and has never seen the state's question pool.
