How this list was compiled: Written from Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes (Motor Vehicles), sections 6-101, 6-105, 12-609, 12-601, 12-602, 12-603, 12-605, 12-606, 12-608, 12-604, 11-1103, 11-805, 1-135, 1-136, 1-133.2, each read on the Oklahoma State Courts Network, https://www.oscn.net/applications/oscn/Index.asp?ftdb=STOKST47, on 2026-09-30. Each question names its section and links to it. That a written test is required is 47 O.S. § 6-101(D): a new applicant completes a written examination, vision examination and driving examination for a motorcycle, and Service Oklahoma waives the written and driving examinations on verification of a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation rider course. No Service Oklahoma page giving the number of questions or a pass mark was read on 2026-09-30, so neither is used. Licence: Own work. Questions, answer choices and explanations were written for this site from the statute text; nothing is copied from the state's motorcycle manual, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation or another practice test.

How it works

This unofficial Oklahoma motorcycle practice test has 48 questions from Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes, with the section under each. It covers the law only; riding technique is in the state's motorcycle manual, so study that too.

The endorsement and the motorcycle-only license

An Oklahoma rider needs a Class A, B, C or D license with a motorcycle endorsement (47 O.S. § 6-101). From 14, a restricted Class D license with a motorcycle-only restriction allows up to 300 cc between 4:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., in protective headgear, with a licensed rider of 21 or older in visual contact (§ 6-105).

What Oklahoma law says about the test

Section 6-101 requires a written, a vision and a driving examination for a motorcycle, plus a basic rider course at 17 or younger. The written and driving examinations are waived after a verified Motorcycle Safety Foundation rider course. No Service Oklahoma page giving a question count or pass mark was read in September 2026, so no pass line is shown.

  • Every Oklahoma motorcycle needs two mirrors, a fender over each wheel and a working speedometer; a windshield or protective eyewear is required too (§ 12-609).

Questions and answers

Can you carry a passenger on a motorcycle in Oklahoma?

An operator of 16 or older may, if the wheels are 12 inches or more across and the motorcycle is factory-equipped with a double seat and double foot rests, or a sidecar. A rider under 16 may not carry anyone (47 O.S. § 11-1103).

Is lane splitting legal in Oklahoma?

No. Section 11-1103(D) says no driver of a motorcycle shall pass other vehicles between lanes of traffic traveling in the same direction. The only exception in the subsection is the operator of an authorized emergency vehicle.

Is this the real Oklahoma motorcycle permit test?

No. This is not a government website, is not affiliated with Service Oklahoma or the Department of Public Safety and has never seen the state's questions. Every answer here rests on a section of Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
