An NC real estate state exam practice test in the outline's proportions

The Commission's booklet, Real Estate Licensing in North Carolina, gives the State section eight categories: licensure 3 items, agency 16, supervision and compensation 4, brokerage practice 12, taxes and insurance 4, contracts and closing 7, landlord and tenant 3, other North Carolina laws 11. This bank matches those counts. Its four tax questions are property tax and excise tax; it has no insurance question.

  • A firm with brokers on both sides of a sale is a dual agent and needs each party's written authority (Rule .0104).
  • A month-to-month security deposit tops out at one and one-half months' rent (G.S. 42-51).

Is there a practice test for a real estate salesperson in North Carolina?

North Carolina is a broker-only state with one license exam, the Commission's booklet says. A new licensee starts as a provisional broker under a broker-in-charge, so this is the State section practice a would-be salesperson needs.

Is this an NC Real Estate Commission practice test?

No. The questions are our own, written from the statutes and the Commission's rules. This site has never seen the exam, and no licensed North Carolina broker or attorney has reviewed the answers yet.
