What the North Carolina law questions cover
Six groups: producer licensing and continuing education, life policy provisions, annuities, disclosure and twisting, accident and health provisions, unfair practices and penalties, and the guaranty association. The statute on suitability in annuity sales is repealed, so that group asks the disclosure and twisting law. Missed questions wait in their own pile.
Studying for life insurance alone
Set the topic filter to Life policy provisions, then to Annuities, disclosure and twisting. Producer licensing, unfair practices and the guaranty association belong to both lines. Each answer names its G.S. section and links to ncleg.gov.
- Individual life policies: a 31-day grace period, and incontestable after two years from issue (G.S. 58-58-22).
- A minor aged 15 or older may make a contract of life insurance or annuity (G.S. 58-58-100).
- Guaranty association limits: $300,000 on one life, $500,000 for health benefit plans (G.S. 58-62-21).
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the NC life insurance exam?
This page does not give that number. No section of Chapter 58 read for this bank sets the exam's length, time limit or pass mark, and none was copied from the Department of Insurance. Exam mode draws 25 questions as a set size only.
Do these NC practice questions come with the answer shown?
Yes. Pick a choice and the page shows the keyed answer, a short explanation and the General Statutes section behind it, with a link to that section on ncleg.gov.
Does North Carolina require a prelicensing course for a producer license?
Under G.S. 58-33-30(d), the Commissioner shall not require an individual who applies for an insurance producer license to complete any specific amount or any specific course of instruction. Two older subdivisions were repealed effective October 1, 2025.
How many continuing education hours does a North Carolina producer need?
The Commissioner sets the biennial requirement, and G.S. 58-33-130 caps it at 24 credit hours. A producer who misses it may be given more time for good cause or charged a $75 administrative fee in place of a lapse.
Are these the real NC life insurance test questions?
No. Nobody here has seen the state exam. The questions were written from Chapter 58 of the North Carolina General Statutes, and the North Carolina Department of Insurance did not write or review them.
