What the Ohio law questions cover
Six groups: agent licensing and continuing education, life policy provisions, annuity suitability and replacement, sickness and accident provisions, unfair practices and penalties, and the guaranty association. Questions you miss are held in a pile for a second try.
Studying for life insurance alone
Set the topic filter to Life policy provisions, then to Annuity suitability and replacement. Agent licensing and the guaranty association belong to both lines. Each answer names its ORC section or OAC rule and links to codes.ohio.gov.
- Continuing education: 24 hours each renewal period, at least 3 of them ethics (ORC 3905.481).
- Renewal: every two years, by the last day of the birth month (ORC 3905.06).
- A sickness and accident policy may be returned until midnight of the 10th day after it is received (ORC 3923.31).
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the Ohio life insurance test?
That number is not on this page. The Revised Code chapters and rules read for this bank set no exam length, time limit or pass mark, and Exam mode draws 25 questions as a set size, nothing more.
How many hours of prelicensing education does Ohio require?
Twenty hours of study for each line of authority applied for, in a program of insurance education the superintendent approves, under ORC 3905.04. A bachelor's or associate's degree in insurance, or an approved professional designation, also meets the requirement.
How many continuing education hours does an Ohio insurance agent need?
At least twenty-four hours for each license renewal period, including at least three hours of approved ethics training, under ORC 3905.481. The license itself is renewed every two years, by the last day of the birth month.
Are these the real Ohio life insurance exam questions?
No. Nobody here has seen the state exam. The questions were written from the Ohio Revised Code and the Ohio Administrative Code, and the Ohio Department of Insurance did not write or review them.
