How it works
These 60 NCLEX-PN pharmacology practice questions are our own, written to the pharmacological therapies category of the 2026 test plan. They are unofficial, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

What this category covers
The activity statements for pharmacological therapies in the 2026 NCLEX-PN Test Plan, read October 7, 2026, name the rights of medication administration, each route, counting controlled substances, evaluating the client's response, reinforcing teaching and calculations with IV flow rates.
Timing
Exam mode asks 20 of the 60 in 40 minutes: two minutes each, the pace of 150 items in five hours.
Where the drug facts come from
Each drug fact names the MedlinePlus drug page or other public page it was read in, and a calculation answer is arithmetic on the question's own numbers. No drug handbook or review book was used.
- Drugs appear under their generic names, as the MedlinePlus pages list them.
Questions and answers
Is this an LPN pharmacology practice test?
Yes. LPN and LVN candidates sit the NCLEX-PN, and this LPN pharmacology test follows its pharmacological therapies category at the practical nurse's scope: giving medication, monitoring the response and reinforcing teaching.
How much of the NCLEX-PN is pharmacology?
The 2026 test plan weights pharmacological therapies at 13% of items, with a stated range of 10 to 16%. On a minimum-length exam of 52 content-area items that is about seven.
Are these real NCLEX-PN pharmacology questions?
No. The test plan says disclosing exam items is a violation of law. All 60 are our own, written from public drug pages, and none repeats or rewords an item of the exam, of NCSBN's samples or of a review book.
Is there dosage calculation practice?
Ten questions: tablets, liquids, a weight-based dose, a unit conversion, insulin and heparin units, two drip rates, a pump rate and an infusion time.
