What the exam covers
The 2026 NCLEX-RN Test Plan, read October 7, 2026, weights management of care 18%, safety and infection control 13%, health promotion 9%, psychosocial integrity 9%, basic care and comfort 9%, pharmacological and parenteral therapies 16%, reduction of risk potential 12% and physiological adaptation 14%. The 100 questions here are split in the same numbers.
Timing
Exam mode asks 85 of the 100, the fewest items a real exam gives, in 170 minutes: the pace of 150 items in five hours.
Where the answers come from
Every NCLEX-RN practice test question on a clinical or legal fact names the public page it was read in, MedlinePlus, the CDC, AHRQ and HHS among them. The three dose calculations are arithmetic on their own numbers.
The real exam adapts to your answers and uses case studies and partial-credit items. Here every question has four choices and one right answer.
Questions and answers
Is this a free NCLEX practice test?
Yes. This NCLEX prep has no charge and no sign-up, and every question shows the right answer with a short reason and its source.
Is this the official NCLEX practice exam?
No. NCSBN publishes its own sample pack, exam preview and candidate tutorial on NCLEX.com. These practice NCLEX test questions are a separate bank: none repeats or rewords an NCSBN item, and the sample items in the test plan were not used.
How many questions are on the NCLEX-RN?
At least 85 and at most 150, in five hours including breaks. A minimum-length exam has 52 content-area items, 18 case study items and 15 unscored pretest items, by the 2026 test plan.
What score do you need to pass the NCLEX?
No percent is set. The computer estimates your ability and compares it with a passing standard that the NCSBN Board of Directors reevaluates every three years. A result here is the number right and forecasts nothing.
Is this the NCLEX-RN practice test or the PN one?
