What the Terra Nova standardized test is
TerraNova NEXT is the current edition, for kindergarten to grade 8, online or on paper. The earlier edition, TerraNova3 Complete Battery, is still given on paper through grade 12. Both report national percentiles, mastery by objective and performance levels. The publisher says a school may give TerraNova NEXT at any time of year.
Why the questions climb by grade
A child can start at grades 3 and 4 and stop where the questions turn hard, which shows what to review. Each question names the Common Core standard it practices, since the publisher ties its objectives to college and career ready standards. Mathematics answers were worked out twice.
