How this list was compiled: Wyoming Statutes, Title 31 (Motor Vehicles): chapter 5 (regulation of traffic on highways, W.S. 31-5-101 to 31-5-1402), chapter 6 (implied consent to chemical testing), chapter 7 (driver's licenses), W.S. 31-4-103 (liability coverage) and W.S. 31-9-405 (required coverage). Every section was read in the Wyoming Legislature's own compiled Title 31, fetched from https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title31.pdf on 2026-09-19. The Legislature publishes each title as one file, so every question links to that file and its citation gives the section to find in it. Exam-format facts on the page come only from the Wyoming Department of Transportation's Driver Services pages, https://www.dot.state.wy.us/home/driver_license_records/driver-license/testing.html and https://www.dot.state.wy.us/home/driver_license_records/driver-license/learner-permits.html, checked 2026-09-19; those pages give no question count or passing score, so none is stated. How it works

Wyoming posts 80 mph on parts of its interstates, issues a restricted license from age 14, and will not let an officer stop a car for a seat belt alone. This unofficial Wyoming permit practice test has 259 questions written from Title 31 of the Wyoming Statutes, plus 48 on road signs. Each link opens the Legislature's file of the whole title. Search it for the section.

Driver Services runs the exam, and Wyoming has no DMV

Driver Services, part of the Wyoming Department of Transportation, gives the written exam and a vision screening. Its testing page, checked 19 September 2026, says the automated test includes questions on seat belt usage and other Wyoming driving laws. After a fail you may only take the same written test twice in one day.

Figures only Wyoming uses

A national question list misses these. On a two-lane road posted at 50 mph or more, section 31-5-203 lets a car run 10 mph over the limit while passing. Beside a parked emergency vehicle on a two-lane road posted at 45 or more, section 31-5-224 wants 20 mph under the limit.

  • Learn the speed ladder in section 31-5-301 as one list: 20 in a school zone, 30 in town, 55 unpaved, 65 paved, 70 on state highways, 75 or 80 on interstates.
  • Section 31-7-110's intermediate permit rules are testable: 50 practice hours, 10 at night, one non-family passenger under 18, and driving only from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Section 31-5-231: stay 500 feet from fire apparatus answering an alarm, moving or stopped.

Questions and answers

How many questions are on the Wyoming permit test?

WYDOT does not say. Its testing, learner permit and FAQ pages, checked 19 September 2026, give no question count or passing score. Exam mode, below the question, asks 25 questions, a length this site chose, with no pass verdict. Section 31-7-114 requires only that the exam cover vision, traffic control devices, safe driving practices and Wyoming traffic laws.

What is on the permit test Wyoming teens take?

Under section 31-7-110, a 15-year-old must pass every part of the examination except the driving test: the written exam and a vision screening. WYDOT's learner permit page, checked 19 September 2026, adds that a parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18. Its fee list shows $45 for a Class C permit.

Is this Wyoming driving test practice enough for the road test too?

It prepares you for the written half only. The driving skills test comes later, after practice beside a licensed driver aged 18 or older, as section 31-7-110 requires. None of these questions come from WYDOT's test, which this site has never seen. Each was written from Title 31 on 19 September 2026.
