How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the four areas of the MPJE Competency Statements that the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy publishes at https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/examinations/mpje/competency-statements/ (opened 2026-10-14): Area 1 Licensure/Personnel 22%, Area 2 Pharmacist Practice 33%, Area 3 Dispensing Requirements 24%, Area 4 Pharmacy Operations 21%. The 120 questions are 26, 40, 29 and 25. Every fact was read on 2026-10-14 in the texts the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy lists on its Wyoming Pharmacy Laws page (https://pharmacyboard.wyo.gov/laws): the Wyoming Pharmacy Act, Wyo. Stat. 33-24-101 to 33-24-301, in the Legislature's Title 33 (https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title33.pdf; the Board's own copy was compared with it word for word), and the Board's current rules on the Secretary of State's site (https://rules.wyo.gov, agency 059): Wyoming Pharmacy Act Rules chapters 2 (general practice, effective May 24, 2023), 3 (internship, August 31, 2023), 6 (continuing education, August 31, 2023), 9 (patient counseling, January 16, 2014), 10 (pharmacy technicians, June 5, 2024), 16 (immunization, August 31, 2023) and 19 (licensing, December 19, 2018), and Wyoming Controlled Substances Act Rules chapters 8 (prescription drug monitoring program, May 24, 2023) and 10 (issuing and dispensing controlled substance prescriptions, May 24, 2023). Each question names its section. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site, written from the public text of the Wyoming statute and rules. Nothing is taken from the MPJE, the Pre-MPJE, NABP's sample items, a prep company or a review book.

How it works

This unofficial Wyoming MPJE study guide asks 120 questions of our own on Wyoming pharmacy law. It is not affiliated with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), which owns the exam, or the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy.

The Pharmacy Act and the Board's rules

Every question was written from texts the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy lists on its Wyoming Pharmacy Laws page, read October 14, 2026: the Wyoming Pharmacy Act, W.S. 33-24-101 to 33-24-301, and the Board's rule chapters on general practice, internship, continuing education, counseling, technicians, immunization, licensing, controlled substance prescriptions and the monitoring program. The split across four areas follows NABP's published MPJE Competency Statements.

Wyoming law only

Wyoming was not among the Uniform MPJE jurisdictions NABP listed on October 14, 2026, and the Board's licensing rule still names the MPJE for Wyoming. The Wyoming Controlled Substances Act itself is not asked here, and federal questions sit on the federal pharmacy law page. Practice for an exam, not medical advice.

  • Emergency refill: up to a 72-hour supply or the smallest available unit, never a controlled substance (W.S. 33-24-136(e)).
  • Controlled substance prescriptions lapse after six months; Schedules III to V carry five refills at most; paper ones need security paper (CSA Rules, Chapter 10).
  • Three clocks: prescription records two years, a change of pharmacist-in-charge reported within seven days, monitoring reports by close of the next business day.
