How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the four areas of the MPJE Competency Statements that the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy publishes at https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/examinations/mpje/competency-statements/ (opened 2026-10-12): Area 1 Licensure/Personnel 22%, Area 2 Pharmacist Practice 33%, Area 3 Dispensing Requirements 24%, Area 4 Pharmacy Operations 21%. The 120 questions are 26, 40, 29 and 25. Every fact was read on 2026-10-12 in two places: the 2026 Colorado Revised Statutes as the General Assembly's Office of Legislative Legal Services publishes them for download (https://leg.colorado.gov/agencies/office-legislative-legal-services/2026-crs-titles-download; Title 12, Article 280, the Pharmacists, Pharmacy Businesses, and Pharmaceuticals article, sections 12-30-109 and 12-30-111, and sections 18-18-308 and 18-18-414 of Title 18), and the State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations, 3 CCR 719-1, in the version effective August 21, 2026 on the Secretary of State's Code of Colorado Regulations site (https://www.sos.state.co.us/CCR/DisplayRule.do?action=ruleinfo&ruleId=2254). Each question names its section or rule. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site, written from the public text of the Colorado Revised Statutes and the Code of Colorado Regulations. Nothing is taken from the MPJE, the Pre-MPJE, NABP's sample items, a prep company or a review book.

How it works

This unofficial Colorado MPJE practice test asks 120 questions on Colorado pharmacy law, from supervision ratios to emergency refills. It is not affiliated with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), which owns the exam, or the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy.

A Colorado MPJE study guide in question form

The bank is drawn from Article 280 of Title 12 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, the opioid and electronic prescribing sections of Article 30, sections 18-18-308 and 18-18-414, and the State Board of Pharmacy rules, 3 CCR 719-1, in the version effective August 21, 2026, all read on October 12, 2026. The 120 questions follow the four areas of NABP's published MPJE Competency Statements in their proportions.

Colorado law only

Colorado was not among the Uniform MPJE jurisdictions NABP listed on October 12, 2026. Federal law, which the exam also asks, is on the federal pharmacy law page. Practice for an exam, not medical advice.

  • Supervision: one pharmacist to six interns and technicians, at most two of them interns, and eight in a central fill pharmacy (C.R.S. 12-280-122).
  • Three 72-hour rules: the emergency refill, the emergency Schedule II supply and the new pharmacist manager's controlled substance inventory.
  • Schedule III to V orders stop at six months and five refills; no order is dispensed after one year from issue (Rule 3.00.10).

Questions and answers

How many questions are on the Colorado MPJE?

NABP's test day page gives 120 computer-based questions in 2.5 hours, delivered adaptively. Exam mode here draws 120 questions from the bank and allows 150 minutes.

What is the passing score for the MPJE in Colorado?

Board Rule 4.00.30 names no number: it says the passing scores are set by the examining entity. NABP reports the MPJE result as pass or fail, which is why this page gives a percent and no verdict.

How many times can you take the MPJE in Colorado?

NABP allows five attempts per jurisdiction. Board Rule 4.00.30 adds that an applicant who has not passed both required examinations within twenty-four months must repeat the one passed earlier.

Is there a free Colorado MPJE study guide?

The law itself is free: the General Assembly posts the Colorado Revised Statutes for download and the Secretary of State posts 3 CCR 719-1. This page turns both into questions.

Are these real Colorado MPJE questions?

No. Each one was written for this site from the public text of Colorado's statutes and Board rules. Nothing comes from the MPJE, the Pre-MPJE or NABP's sample items, and no Colorado agency has reviewed the bank.
