How it works
This unofficial Texas MPJE practice test asks 120 questions of our own on the Texas Pharmacy Act and board rules. It is not affiliated with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) or the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

A Texas pharmacy law practice test on the MPJE outline
The 120 questions are split across the four areas as NABP's published MPJE Competency Statements weigh them. Texas uses the exam: board rule 283.9 lists MPJE fees paid to NABP.
A study guide for the Texas MPJE, section by section
Each answer names its section of Occupations Code chapters 551 to 569 or 22 TAC Part 15, read October 9, 2026 in the board's own copies. Open the section after a miss; that reading is the study guide.
Texas law only
Practice for an exam, not medical advice. Federal law, which the real exam mixes in without marking it, is on the federal pharmacy law page. Nothing clinical is asked.
- Schedule II on paper: an official Texas prescription form, void 30 days after issuance (22 TAC 315.3, 315.5).
- Keep three supplies apart: 72-hour emergency refill, 30-day disaster supply, 30-day insulin refill (Occupations Code 562.054, 562.0541).
- Ten days after: a change of address, employment or pharmacist-in-charge. Thirty days before: a change of location (562.053, 562.106).
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the Texas MPJE?
NABP's test day page gives 120 computer-based questions in 2.5 hours, adaptive, with 5 attempts per jurisdiction. Exam mode here is the same length: 120 questions against a 150-minute clock.
What score do you need to pass the Texas MPJE?
Board rule 22 TAC 283.7 sets a minimum grade of 75 on the Texas Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination. NABP reports the result as pass or fail, so a percent right on this page is not that grade.
Does the Texas MPJE cover federal law?
Yes. NABP's outline says no distinction is made between federal and state questions, and each is answered under the law of the state where you seek a license. This page asks the Texas side only.
Is there a free Texas MPJE study guide?
The two texts the Texas questions rest on are free on pharmacy.texas.gov: the Texas Pharmacy Act and the board's rules. This page turns them into practice, and each answer points to the paragraph to read.
Is this the real Texas MPJE?
No. Every question was written for this site from the public text of Texas law. None comes from the MPJE, the Pre-MPJE or NABP's sample items, and neither NABP nor the Texas State Board of Pharmacy has reviewed this page.
