How this list was compiled: Oregon Revised Statutes chapter 689 (https://www.oregonlegislature.gov/bills_laws/ors/ors689.html) and Oregon Administrative Rules chapter 855, Board of Pharmacy, divisions 41, 80, 104, 115, 120, 125, 135 and 183 (https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/displayChapterRules.action?selectedChapter=19). Both were read on 2026-10-09, and each question names its section. Licence: Own work. Every question, every wrong choice and every explanation was written for this site from the text of the Oregon statute or rule it cites, which is public law. Nothing is taken from the MPJE, from an NABP practice exam, or from a prep company or review book.

How it works

This Oregon MPJE practice test is unofficial and not affiliated with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), which owns the MPJE. Every question comes from ORS chapter 689 or the Board of Pharmacy's rules, read October 9, 2026.

What the Oregon MPJE covers

NABP's MPJE Competency Statements name four areas: licensure and personnel 22%, pharmacist practice 33%, dispensing requirements 24% and pharmacy operations 21%. The bank keeps those shares.

Oregon law only

Practice for an exam, not medical advice. The real exam mixes in federal law, answered as Oregon applies it; for that part see the federal pharmacy law questions. Temporary rules, fees and the schedule lists are not asked.

A study guide in questions

Each explanation names its statute or rule, so the bank works as an Oregon pharmacy MPJE study guide: a miss sends you to the text itself.

  • Oregon amends OAR chapter 855 often. Open the Secretary of State's current rule before you rely on an answer.

Questions and answers

Is this the real Oregon MPJE?

No. NABP's exam is confidential and none of its questions are here. Every question, choice and explanation was written for this site from Oregon's public statutes and rules. Neither NABP nor the Oregon Board of Pharmacy reviewed or endorsed it.

How many questions are on the Oregon MPJE?

NABP's test day page describes the MPJE as a 2.5-hour, computer-based exam of 120 questions, delivered with adaptive technology and reported as pass or fail. Exam mode here draws 120 questions in 150 minutes and gives no pass verdict.

Does Oregon still use the state-specific MPJE?

Yes, as of October 9, 2026. OAR 855-115-0020 requires a pass on the Oregon MPJE, and Oregon was not on NABP's list of jurisdictions that have adopted the Uniform MPJE, which launched in 2026.

How many times can you take the Oregon MPJE?

OAR 855-115-0020 allows a retake after a minimum of 30 days, three attempts in a 12-month period and a lifetime maximum of 5 failed attempts. A passing result is valid for 12 months. NABP's own limit is 5 attempts per jurisdiction.

What should I study for the Oregon MPJE?

NABP's outline, ORS chapter 689, OAR chapter 855, and federal drug and controlled substance law. This page covers the Oregon part: licensure, prescriptions, counseling, labeling, records, inventories and drug outlet rules.
