How it works
Pennsylvania still gives its own MPJE, and this unofficial MPJE Pennsylvania practice test asks the state law behind it. It is not affiliated with the exam's owner, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). Sources read October 9, 2026.

Two texts, four areas
Each question rests on a section of the Pharmacy Act or of 49 Pa. Code Chapter 27, the State Board of Pharmacy's regulations. They are spread as NABP weights the MPJE: licensure 22%, practice 33%, dispensing 24%, operations 21%.
What is left out
Practice for an exam, not medical advice. Pennsylvania's controlled substance act, generic substitution law and prescription monitoring program are not asked here, so study them separately. Federal law has its own page.
Using it to study
As a Pennsylvania MPJE study guide, take one area at a time and open the cited section after every miss.
- Pennsylvania's periods are easy to mix up: 2 years for most records, 72 hours for an emergency supply, 15 days to report a manager change.
Questions and answers
Does Pennsylvania require the MPJE?
Yes. 49 Pa. Code § 27.24 requires candidates for licensure by examination to pass the NAPLEX and the MPJE. When this page was checked, Pennsylvania was not among the jurisdictions NABP lists as moving to the Uniform MPJE.
What is a passing score on the Pennsylvania MPJE?
The regulation leaves it to the exam's owner: under § 27.24(c) the minimum passing score is as determined by the NABP. NABP reports the result as pass or fail, so this page shows a score with no pass mark.
How long is the MPJE?
NABP gives 2.5 hours for 120 computer-based questions chosen with adaptive technology, and allows 5 attempts per jurisdiction. Exam mode on this page asks 120 of our questions against a 150-minute clock.
Are these real Pennsylvania MPJE questions?
No. The real questions are confidential and none appear here. Each question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from public law, and neither NABP nor the State Board of Pharmacy has reviewed or endorsed the page.
