Revised Code of Washington chapter 18.108 (Massage Therapists): https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=18.108 . How it works

Massage therapy jurisprudence exam practice for Washington, written from chapter 18.108 RCW, the Uniform Disciplinary Act and chapter 246-830 WAC. It is unofficial, and none of these is the state's own question.

What the rule says about the exam

WAC 246-830-020 lists proof of passing the Washington state massage jurisprudence examination among the things an applicant sends the Department of Health. The rule gives no question count, time limit or passing score. Exam mode draws 25 questions; that length is this site's choice.

Seven topics

The Start from menu under the question sets one: licenses and titles, the board and the secretary, applying, standards of practice, records and hygiene, renewal and continuing education, or discipline.

Where each answer comes from

Every explanation names its section of the Revised Code of Washington or the Washington Administrative Code, read on the Legislature's site on October 4, 2026.

  • Wrong answers go to Missed until you answer them right.
  • Print, on the score card, makes a question sheet, and a tick adds an answer key with each section number.

Questions and answers

Is this the real jurisprudence exam for massage therapists in Washington?

No. It is unofficial practice written from the statutes and rules, not from the state's examination. The Washington State Department of Health and the board of massage did not write or review it.

Does Washington require a massage therapy jurisprudence exam?

Yes. WAC 246-830-020 (1)(d) lists proof of successful completion of the Washington state massage jurisprudence examination among an applicant's requirements, along with a board approved licensing examination, first aid and CPR certification, and a background check.

How many continuing education hours does a Washington massage therapist need?

WAC 246-830-475 says 24 hours every two years. At least eight must be in person and hands-on, at least four in ethics, communication, boundaries or state massage law, and at least two in health equity.

How long do Washington massage therapists keep client records?

WAC 246-830-570 says at least three years from the date of last treatment for a client 18 or older, and at least three years after a younger client reaches 18.
