How it works
Unofficial practice for the Louisiana Jurisprudence Examination for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, not affiliated with the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board. Each question is our own, written from R.S. 37:2401 to 37:2424 and the Board's rules.

Grouped by the law the exam covers
The Board publishes no outline, only that the exam covers the Practice Act and Board rules. So the questions are grouped by those sources: the Board, definitions, licensure, practice, supervision and records, and discipline.
Supervision follows the 2025 statute
R.S. 37:2418(F), last amended by Act 65 of 2025, caps supervision at six people and has the therapist treat and reassess an assistant's patient every twelfth treatment day or every thirty days. The Board's rules, dated August 20, 2021, still say every sixth treatment day, so supervision questions here follow the statute.
- Direct access turns on numbers: a doctorate or five years of practice, thirty calendar days without improvement, a diagnosis no older than ninety days.
- The renewal calendar: apply by March 31, licenses expire April 30, thirty hours every two years with two on jurisprudence and two on ethics.
Questions and answers
Is the Louisiana physical therapy jurisprudence exam open book?
Yes. Board Rule §123 defines the Jurisprudence Examination as an open book examination made up of multiple choice and/or true/false questions covering information contained in the Practice Act and Board rules.
Who has to take the Louisiana jurisprudence exam?
Rule §151 says an applicant must pass the Louisiana jurisprudence exam, and Rule §187 asks it of some reinstatements. Under Rule §194, passing it online also meets the two jurisprudence hours of each renewal period, as does a Board-sponsored course.
How many questions are on the Louisiana jurisprudence exam?
The Board's rules and public pages give no number of questions, pass mark or time limit, so this page gives none. The Board's Jurisprudence page says the online exam is reached from the licensee dashboard.
Is this the real Louisiana jurisprudence exam?
No. It is unofficial practice written from Louisiana statutes and Board rules. The Louisiana Physical Therapy Board did not write or review this page, and none of the exam's questions appear here.
