How it works
An unofficial study guide for the Nebraska physical therapy jurisprudence exam, not affiliated with the Nebraska Board of Physical Therapy or the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. The questions are our own, written from Nebraska statutes and regulations.

Six areas, weighted like the outline
The Nebraska JAM Content Outline of 2024 gives definitions 8 percent of the exam, the Board 4, licensure 24, patient care management 28, discipline and unlawful practice 26 and consumer advocacy 10. The bank keeps that order of size.
Five bodies of law, not one
Much of the outline sits outside the Practice Act. Discipline, reporting duties and renewal are in the Uniform Credentialing Act, access to records in sections 71-8401 to 71-8407, and supervision detail in 172 NAC 137. Each explanation names its section and links to the State's copy.
- Supervision words settle many answers: direct means physically present, general may be by telecommunication.
- Nebraska statutes license therapists and certify assistants, and both credentials expire November 1 of odd-numbered years.
Questions and answers
Is the Nebraska physical therapy jurisprudence exam the same as the NE JAM?
Yes. The regulation, 172 NAC 137, calls it the Jurisprudence (NE LAW) Examination. It is taken online as the Nebraska Jurisprudence Assessment Module, which the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy runs.
How many questions are on the Nebraska jurisprudence exam?
The Federation's NE JAM page lists 50 questions in 90 minutes. Takers must answer 80 percent correctly, and they may retake it as often as needed.
What does the Nebraska jurisprudence exam cover?
172 NAC 137-002.08 names five sources: the Physical Therapy Practice Act, 172 NAC 137, the Uniform Credentialing Act, 172 NAC 10 and the medical records statutes, sections 71-8401 to 71-8407.
Is this the real Nebraska jurisprudence exam?
No. It is unofficial practice written from Nebraska law. The Nebraska Board of Physical Therapy and the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy did not write or review this page, and none of the module's questions appear here.
