Rules that are Wyoming's own
Big and trophy game hunters wear a fluorescent orange or pink garment. The carcass coupon is signed, dated and attached before leaving the site of the kill. Big game hunters under 14 go accompanied.
What these questions cover
The Game and Fish Department lists six topics for every class. These questions cover one of them, Game and Fish statutes and regulations; exam mode uses the real test's length and pass mark.
A coupon is dated by cutting out the whole day and month of the kill.
Every hunter stops at a check station on the way, with or without game.
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the Wyoming hunter safety test?
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says 50 multiple-choice questions, with a minimum score of 80%. Students also pass a practical on handling firearms. No live fire is required.
Who needs hunter safety in Wyoming?
Anyone whose birth date is January 1, 1966 or later who takes wildlife with a firearm on land other than the family's own, under W.S. 23-2-106. Armed forces members and veterans are exempt, and a one-year special authorization lets a new hunter go with a mentor.
How old do you have to be to take hunter safety in Wyoming?
The department sets no minimum age for the traditional in-person course and a minimum of 10 for the blended online course. Big game hunting starts at 12, or at 11 for a hunter who turns 12 that calendar year.
