Virginia property and casualty insurance license study guide: where the law sits
The Series 11-03 outline prints a Code of Virginia section beside each state topic. Insurance Regulation is 15 percent of the exam. More law sits in the basics section (the guaranty association, cancellation, binders), under auto (financial responsibility, uninsured motorists), and under workers' compensation, surplus lines and the Virginia Property Insurance Association.
What this Virginia property and casualty study guide skips
Agent licensing, appointments and unfair trade practices are drilled on the Virginia life and health page and are not repeated. The dwelling, homeowners, auto and commercial forms that make up most of the exam are outside a law-only guide.
Uninsured motorist coverage carries at least $20,000 for property damage; the first $200 may be excluded when the other driver is unidentified (38.2-2206).
The guaranty association pays up to $300,000 a claimant, workers' compensation claims in full, and unearned premium above $50 (38.2-1606).
Workers' compensation skips the first seven days of incapacity unless it runs past three weeks (65.2-509).
