Questions and answers
How many questions are on the California property and casualty insurance exam?
The Department of Insurance lists the Property and Casualty examination at 150 questions in 3 hours, and the separate Property and Casualty examinations at 75 questions in 1.5 hours each. Passing a producer license examination takes a score of 60 percent.
Are these property and casualty insurance exam practice tests for California free?
Yes. Every question is free and your answers stay in your browser. They are our own questions, written from the codes. The Department did not write or review them, and this site has never seen the state exam.
What does this CA property casualty practice test leave out?
Policy forms and coverage theory: the homeowners, personal auto and commercial forms that the objectives say most exam questions rest on. Title 10 regulations are left out too. Exam mode draws 25 questions as a set size only.
How much notice must a California insurer give to cancel an auto policy?
At least 20 days before the effective date, or at least 10 days when the reason is nonpayment of premium (Insurance Code section 662). A homeowner policy needs 20 calendar days, or 10 for nonpayment or fraud (section 677.4).
