How this list was compiled: Own questions, written from the Kentucky Revised Statutes as published by the Kentucky General Assembly at https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/ (Chapter 304, Subtitles 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 20, 35, 36, 39, 47 and 99, and Chapter 342), each section downloaded and read on 2026-10-12. Each question names its section and links to it. The topics follow the Kentucky Law unit of the Property Insurance License Outline and of the Casualty Insurance License Outline (16 units and 50 questions each; 4 and 5 of them on Kentucky law), which list the KRS references and which the Kentucky Department of Insurance posts at https://insurance.ky.gov/ppc/Documents/PropertyExamOutline041510.pdf and https://insurance.ky.gov/ppc/Documents/DOI_ExamStudyOutline-Casualtyrev04-15-2010.pdf, among the study outlines of its Training Providers / Study Outlines page (https://insurance.ky.gov/ppc/newstatic_info.aspx?static_id=74). Adjusters and public adjusters (KRS 304.9-430 to 304.9-435) and the FAIR plan (Subtitle 35) are not in the outlines' lists and are added. Statutes only: no Kentucky administrative regulation was read. Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the text of the law. Nothing comes from a testing vendor, a prep course or an exam question pool.

Property and Casualty are two exams in Kentucky

The Department of Insurance posts a Property outline and a Casualty outline. Each has a Kentucky Law unit that lists KRS sections, and the two lists mostly match; Casualty adds the no-fault act, automobile cancellation and workers' compensation. Both list agent licensing, trade practices and surplus lines.

Kentucky law as amended in 2026

For two years from April 13, 2026 the Department issues no new public adjuster licenses, and for two years from July 15, 2026 a public adjuster may not negotiate with an insurer for an insured. The amended no-fault sections apply to benefits issued or renewed from July 15: a $500 weekly limit and up to $5,000 for funeral expenses.

  • Cancellation notice: 14 days for nonpayment, 20 for other auto cancellations, 75 for nonrenewal (KRS 304.20-040, 304.20-320).
  • Minimum liability: $25,000 for one person, $50,000 per accident, $25,000 for property, or a $60,000 single limit (KRS 304.39-110).
  • Claims are payable within 30 days of proof; failing a good faith attempt to settle adds 12 percent interest (KRS 304.12-235).

Questions and answers

Is this a free practice test for the Kentucky property and casualty insurance exam?

Yes. Every question is free, and your answers stay in your browser. The questions are our own; the Kentucky Department of Insurance did not write or review them.

How many questions are on the Kentucky property and casualty exam?

The Department of Insurance's study outlines give the Property exam 50 questions, 4 of them on Kentucky law, and the Casualty exam 50, with 5 on Kentucky law. They print no pass mark, so this page gives none. Exam mode's 25 is a set size.

What does Kentucky no-fault insurance pay?

Basic reparation benefits pay economic loss up to $10,000 a person without regard to fault: medical expense, work loss and replacement services (KRS 304.39-020, 304.39-040). A motorcycle rider gets them only if they were bought as optional coverage.
