Two New Hampshire exams ask this law
The Property and Casualty producer exam, Series 12-64, gives Insurance Regulation 13 percent of its items. A candidate who holds the CPCU designation takes only the Property and Casualty Laws and Regulations exam, Series 12-81: 40 items in 1 hour, one quarter on Insurance Regulation and three quarters on property and casualty law.
What the New Hampshire law covers
RSA 264 asks for proof of financial responsibility after certain convictions and reported accidents. Auto, homeowner and commercial policies each have a cancellation chapter with its own notice days, and an insured may ask the commissioner to review an auto cancellation. The Department's rules are not asked.
Auto cancellation takes 45 days' notice, 10 for nonpayment, and the insured has 10 days to request the commissioner's review (RSA 417-A:5, 417-A:7).
Valued policy law: a building totally destroyed by fire or lightning is paid at the sum insured, absent fraud (RSA 407:11).
The guaranty association covers claims over $50 and pays the part under $300,000; workers' compensation claims are paid in full (RSA 404-B:5, 404-B:8).
