Three adjuster exams

The candidate bulletin dated August 4, 2026 lists the Adjuster's Property and Casualty exam, Series 12-75, a workers' compensation adjuster exam, Series 12-76, and the Adjuster's Property and Casualty Laws and Regulations exam, Series 12-83.

The part asked here

Series 12-83 gives 25 percent to insurance regulation: licensing under RSA 402-B, records, discipline and the claim settlement rules of Ins 1002. The topics here follow that part. The other 75 percent, on property and casualty law, is asked on the New Hampshire property and casualty page.

Timed like Series 12-83

The timed test takes that exam's 40 questions and 1 hour, all on the law.

  • Acknowledge a claim in 10 working days, start investigating in 5, decide within 30 days or send a delay letter (Ins 1002.05).
  • Adjusting without a license is a misdemeanor for a natural person and a felony for any other person (RSA 402-B:13).
  • A claim file is kept for the calendar year the claim closes plus 5 years (RSA 400-B:5).

Who needs an adjuster license in New Hampshire?

Anyone who investigates, negotiates or settles property, casualty or workers' compensation claims on New Hampshire risks for an insurer, employed or under contract (RSA 402-B:1, 402-B:2). Attorneys, clerical staff and those who handle only automobile glass claims are among the exempt.

Does New Hampshire require continuing education for adjusters?

Yes. RSA 402-B:5-a requires 24 hours every 2 years, at least 3 in adjuster ethics; adjusters with workers' compensation authority need 10 workers' compensation hours. A nonresident who meets the home state's requirement owes nothing more.

Is this New Hampshire adjuster license practice test free?

Yes. All 101 questions are open, and your answers stay in your browser. The questions were written for this page from the law itself; none comes from the state exam, and the New Hampshire Insurance Department did not write or review them.
