How this list was compiled: Vermont Statutes Annotated, Title 8: sections 4791, 4793, 4798, 4800, 4803, 4804 and 4806 (chapter 131, licensing) and subdivision 4724(9) (chapter 129, insurance trade practices), read on October 15, 2026 in the Vermont Statutes Online of the Vermont General Assembly (https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/title/08); and Regulation I-79-2, Fair Claims Practices (revised effective July 1, 2018), of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation (https://dfr.vermont.gov/reg-bul-ord/fair-claims-practices), read the same day. The topics follow section 1.0, Insurance Regulation, of the content outline for the Vermont Adjuster's Examination for Property and Casualty Insurance, Series 14-33 (150 questions plus 5 unscored items, 2.5 hours, effective November 3, 2019), which the Department's Licensing Information Bulletin effective March 18, 2026 lists (https://www.prometric.com/files/vermont/14-33.pdf). Each question names its section and links to it. Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the text of the law. Two adjuster exams
The Department's bulletin effective March 18, 2026 lists the Adjuster's Property and Casualty exam, Series 14-33, and Adjuster's Workers' Compensation, Series 14-34.
The part asked here
Insurance Regulation is 5 percent of Series 14-33, 7 items: licensing under 8 V.S.A. §§ 4798 to 4806, unfair claim settlement practices and Regulation I-79-2. The topics here follow that part; this page is untimed practice, not a full-length exam.
Staff adjusters too
Vermont excepts only officials and employees of a domestic fire or casualty company, and resident producers their insurer authorizes to appraise its losses (8 V.S.A. § 4791). The Department's adjuster page says a staff adjuster of any other insurer needs the license.
Acknowledge a claim notice in 10 business days; accept or deny within 15 business days of proofs of loss (Regulation I-79-2, sections 5 and 6).
Keep the record of every transaction at the address on the license for at least three years (8 V.S.A. § 4803).
A workers' compensation claim needs the separate workers' compensation adjuster license (8 V.S.A. § 4793).
