What is left out
Law only, and each question cites its section. Fees, the general professional regulation statutes of Title 3, the national sedation guidelines and ethics codes the rules point to, and the Board's separate policies are not asked. Statute and rules are as they stood on the Legislature's and the Office's sites on October 16, 2026. Practice for an exam, not medical advice.
- Dentists owe 30 hours of continuing education per two-year period, dental therapists 20 and dental hygienists 18 (26 V.S.A. § 661).
- A dental therapist needs 1,000 supervised hours before a first collaborative agreement, and one dentist may supervise two (26 V.S.A. § 614).
- Sedation-related hospital transports and deaths are reported to the Office in writing within 30 days (Rule 11-1).
Questions and answers
How do you take the Vermont dental jurisprudence exam?
The Office of Professional Regulation's dentist application instructions say the Vermont Dentist Jurisprudence Examination is found within the online application, and the applicant uploads the answer sheet with it.
What is the passing score on the Vermont dental jurisprudence exam?
Neither 26 V.S.A. chapter 12 nor the Board's rules print a pass mark, a question count or a time limit, so this page does not guess them. A scored run here asks 25 questions and gives the score without a verdict.
What does the Vermont jurisprudence exam cover?
The rules call it the Vermont Statutes and Rules Exam, and 26 V.S.A. § 611 describes an examination on the Vermont statutes and rules relating to the practice of dentistry. This page drills chapter 12 and the Board's rules.
Who has to take the Vermont dental jurisprudence exam?
Every applicant for a dentist, dental therapist or dental hygienist license, by examination or by endorsement. Rules 4-1, 5-1 and 6-1 each require the Vermont Statutes and Rules Exam for that profession.
Is this the Board's exam?
No. The questions were written for this site from the public statute and rules, never from the examination. The Vermont Board of Dental Examiners and the Office of Professional Regulation have not reviewed this page.
