What is left out
Law only, and each question cites its section. Fees other than the exam fee, the equipment lists for anesthesia permits, the denturitry statute (Title 37, chapter 29) and the general licensing law of Title 37, chapter 1 are not asked. Code and rules are as they stood on the Legislature's and the Secretary of State's sites on October 16, 2026. Practice for an exam, not medical advice.
- Dentists owe 60 hours of continuing education per three-year cycle; dental hygienists and denturists owe 36 (ARM 24.138.2110).
- A hygienist needs a limited access permit to work under public health supervision (MCA 37-4-405).
- Sedation and anesthesia incidents are reported to the board in writing within seven days (ARM 24.138.3231).

Every applicant for a license from the Board of Dentistry. ARM 24.138.550 covers each application for licensure, and the fee schedule, ARM 24.138.402, sets one jurisprudence examination fee for all licensees: dentists, dental hygienists and denturists.
What should I study for the Montana dental jurisprudence exam?
The board's Statutes page lists Montana Code Title 37, chapter 4, Dentistry and Dental Hygiene, among the statutes primary to the board, and its rules page points to ARM Title 24, chapter 138. This page drills both.
Is this the board's exam?
No. The questions were written for this site from the public code and rules, never from the examination. The Montana Board of Dentistry and the Department of Labor and Industry have not reviewed this page.
