How this list was compiled: New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated Chapter 311-B (Auctioneers), Chapter 358-G (Regulation of Auctions), Sections 358-A:2, 382-A:2-328 and 444:1, and Chapter 310 (Office of Professional Licensure and Certification), read on October 15, 2026 on the General Court's statute pages (https://gc.nh.gov/rsa/html/NHTOC/NHTOC-XXX-311-B.htm); and the New Hampshire Code of Administrative Rules, Auc 100 to 500 (https://gc.nh.gov/rules/state_agencies/auc100-500.html) and Plc 1002.52 (https://gc.nh.gov/rules/state_agencies/plc1000.html), read the same day. The examination's subject areas and pass mark are from rule Auc 303.01. Each law question names its section or rule and links to it; each math question is arithmetic on the numbers it gives. Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the text of the statutes and rules, and the math questions use made-up figures. Nothing comes from the state examination, the board's sample questions, a testing service, a prep course or an exam question pool.

What the New Hampshire auctioneer exam asks

Rule Auc 303.01 names the subject areas: RSA 311-B, RSA 358-A:2, RSA 358-G, RSA 444:1, RSA 382-A:2-328 and rules Auc 100 through 500; accepted accounting practices for buyer and seller; and auctioneering mathematics. The state now lists it as the Auctioneers Jurisprudence Examination.

What is left out

Parts of the 2017 rules that still cite repealed sections of RSA 311-B: the bond, the old fees and reciprocity. Where a later statute or rule differs, the question follows the later text and names it.

Where the answers come from

The General Court's pages for RSA 311-B, 310, 358-A:2, 358-G, 444:1 and 382-A:2-328, and the Auc and Plc rules on its administrative rules pages, read on October 15, 2026.

  • The responsible auctioneer pays consignors within 15 calendar days unless both agree in writing to another time (Auc 501.02(d)).
  • A buyer's premium is stated in every advertisement and posted at the auction site (RSA 358-G:2-a).
  • No item is accepted for sale without a written agreement with the owner, kept two years (Auc 502.01(a)).
