Two questions rest on federal law, 12 U.S.C. 2609 and 31 U.S.C. 5318(l), read the same day at https://www.govinfo.gov. The topics and the sections asked follow the Virginia Title Insurance Examination content outline, Series 11-04 (https://www.prometric.com/files/virginia/1104-Title-Insurance.pdf), which the Bureau of Insurance's Licensing Information Bulletin, effective December 13, 2024, points to. Each question names its section and links to it. Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the text of the law. Nothing comes from a testing vendor, a prep course or an exam question pool.
How it works
Unofficial Virginia title insurance practice test: 86 questions on the law that the Series 11-04 outline cites, from Titles 38.2, 55.1 and 8.01 of the Code of Virginia, with the section under each answer. Not affiliated with the Virginia Bureau of Insurance.

The outline's four parts
Series 11-04 gives insurance regulation 26 percent, real property 30, title insurance 27, and title exceptions and clearing title 17. This bank holds 39, 20, 11 and 16 questions.
Why the title insurance part is short here
That part of the outline is mostly the commitment, the policies and their endorsements, which are private forms. Only what the Code itself says is asked: the agent's four services, risk rates, and the notice to buyers.
Cited sections that have changed
Section 38.2-613.2 on consumer privacy was repealed in 2020 and is not asked. A judgment dated on or after July 1, 2021 runs 10 years, an older one 20, and each question says which rule it means.
Deposit escrow funds by the close of the second business day; record and disburse within two business days of settlement (Sections 55.1-1008, 55.1-903).
Settlement agent cover: $250,000 errors and omissions, $100,000 fidelity, $200,000 surety bond (Section 55.1-1004).
"As joint tenants" alone gives no survivorship in Virginia (Section 55.1-135).
