What the 4th grade Oklahoma math test covers
Oklahoma's blueprint gives four strands an ideal share of the 50 scored items, and the questions here stay inside each share. Number and Operations has 22: whole numbers to 1,000,000, multiplication and division, fractions, decimals to hundredths and money. Geometry and Measurement has 13: lines, quadrilaterals, solid shapes, angles, area, volume, units and time. Algebraic Reasoning and Algebra has 8: input and output rules and equations with a variable. Data and Probability has 7: frequency tables, line plots, bar graphs, timelines and Venn diagrams. Each answer names its objective, such as 4.N.2.2.
Money questions go no higher than twenty dollars and number-line fractions stop at twelfths, the limits the grade 4 objectives set.
Questions and answers
Is the OCCT still given in 4th grade?
No. Oklahoma's 2024-25 technical report calls the OCCT the former assessment and keeps its 2015 and 2016 data in legacy reports. Fourth graders now take the OSTP, and this page follows the OSTP grade 4 mathematics blueprint.
What is the Oklahoma CRT for 4th grade?
CRT is short for criterion-referenced test. The state's technical report describes the OSTP assessments as state-mandated, criterion-referenced tests, so an Oklahoma CRT practice test for 4th grade now means practice for the OSTP.
How many questions are on the 4th grade OSTP math test?
The item specifications list 60: 50 operational items that make the scaled score and 10 field-test items that do not. The test comes in two sections, and every item is marked right or wrong.
How long does the 4th grade Oklahoma math test take?
About 40 minutes a section by the state's estimate, and about 100 minutes once login and directions are added. Its suggested maximum is 200 minutes.
Do 4th graders get a calculator on the Oklahoma math test?
Only as an accommodation. The specifications say calculators, formula sheets and hundreds charts are not allowed on the grade 4 test unless a student's IEP or 504 Plan allows them.
