What the grade 7 SC READY math test covers
The 2026-27 blueprint sorts 50 items into four reporting categories. Patterns, Algebra, and Functional Reasoning has 14 to 18: percents, proportional relationships, equations and inequalities, unit rates and exponent laws. Measurement, Geometry, and Spatial Reasoning has 13 to 17: circles, the Triangle Inequality, volume, surface area, angle pairs and scale drawings. Data, Probability, and Statistical Reasoning has 11 to 14: stem-and-leaf plots, histograms, measures of spread and probability. Numerical Reasoning has 6 to 8: converting and comparing rational numbers.
A question for every indicator
The blueprint lists 33 grade 7 indicators, and each has a question here. The code under an answer, such as 7.MGSR.1.4, is the indicator in the 2025 standards. Circle questions say which value of π to use.
The real test starts with a No Calculator section, so work these by hand first and check with a calculator after.
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the grade 7 SC READY math test?
The blueprint gives 50 operational items worth one point each, and says 6 to 8 field test items may be added. This page has 50 questions, all multiple choice with four options.
Is a calculator allowed on the 7th grade SC READY math test?
Only in the second section. Grades 6 to 8 take a No Calculator section, then a Calculator section. There the online test has a built-in scientific calculator and a graphing calculator for grade 7.
How long is the SC READY math test for 7th grade?
It is not timed. For planning, the state's format table lists 80 minutes for the two math sections in grades 6 to 8, and calls its times approximations.
What is a good SC READY math score in 7th grade?
South Carolina reports four levels. For 2026-27, grade 7 math scale scores of 297 to 332 are Meets and 333 to 440 are Exceeds; 266 to 296 is Approaches and 100 to 265 is Does Not Meet.
Does South Carolina have its own SC READY practice for grade 7 math?
The department's SC READY page describes an Online Tools Training, where students try the testing software and its tools ahead of the test. This page is separate, unofficial practice written for this site.
