How it works
Unofficial practice for the Algebra 1 test of South Carolina's End-of-Course Examination Program, EOCEP. The questions are our own, written from the 2025 state standards; none comes from a real test. Not affiliated with the South Carolina Department of Education.

What the SC Algebra 1 end of course test covers
The 2026-27 blueprint has three reporting categories. Patterns and Algebraic Reasoning is the largest, 20 to 24 of the 50 items: equations, polynomials, quadratics, sequences and systems. Functional Reasoning has 13 to 17: function notation, domain and range, transformations and parent functions. The third, also 13 to 17, joins statistical modeling with radicals and rational exponents.
Where the answers come from
Each question shows the indicator it practices, such as A1.PAFR.2.9, from the state's printable Algebra 1 standards. An answer is never taken from a key: it is worked from the numbers in the question, then worked once more.
- A calculator is available on every item of the real test, so practice with the graphing calculator you will use.
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the SC Algebra 1 EOC?
50 operational items, each worth 1 point, and the spring test may add 8 to 10 field test items. The test is not timed. This page has 50 questions, all with four choices.
How much does the Algebra 1 EOC count in South Carolina?
The state says an EOCEP score makes up 20 percent of the student's final course grade.
How is the SC Algebra 1 end of course practice test scored against the real one?
This page gives a percent. The real test gives a scale score from 0 to 100 with a letter grade, where A is 90 to 100 and F is 59 or less. The state says the scale score is not the percent answered correctly.
Is this the EOC Algebra 1 practice test South Carolina schools give?
No. It is unofficial and was written for this site. The South Carolina Department of Education posts sample items of its own, and the box under the questions links to its EOCEP page.
