What the US History EOC covers in South Carolina
Five standards, each worth 10 to 12 of the 55 items. Foundations of American Republicanism runs from the colonies to 1815. Expansion and Union covers 1803 to 1877; Capitalism and Reform, 1862 to 1924; Modernism and Interventionism, 1893 to 1945; Legacy of the Cold War, 1945 to the present.
Where each answer comes from
Every explanation ends with the indicator it practices, such as USHC.2.CE, and names its source. 46 of the 55 rest on a milestone document at the National Archives, 8 on the State Department's Office of the Historian and 1 on Federal Reserve History. Several begin with a short excerpt.
Standard 1 starts in 1607, so the test reaches back to the colonies and the Constitution, not only the years after the Civil War.
Most items sit above recall: 55 to 75 percent at Depth of Knowledge level 2, and 20 to 45 percent at level 3.
