What the grade 8 SC READY math test covers

The 2026-27 blueprint sorts 50 items into four reporting categories. Measurement, Geometry, and Spatial Reasoning is the largest, 15 to 19 items: volume, the Pythagorean Theorem, angles, similar figures and transformations. Patterns, Algebra, and Functional Reasoning has 14 to 18: linear functions, slope, equations and exponents. Data, Probability, and Statistical Reasoning has 8 to 10, and Numerical Reasoning 7 to 9.

How the answers are checked

Each answer shows its steps and the indicator it practices, such as 8.MGSR.1.3, and every result is worked out again. All 39 grade 8 indicators on the blueprint have a question. Graphs and figures are described in words.

  • The real test opens with a No Calculator section, so work the first questions here by hand.
