How this list was compiled: South Carolina Code of Laws, Title 38 (Insurance), chapters 1, 2, 3, 29, 43, 55, 57, 59, 63, 65, 69 and 71, read on October 9, 2026 on the South Carolina Legislature's site (https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/title38.php, one page per chapter). The topics and the sections asked follow the "South Carolina Specific" content outlines for the Life, the Accident and Health, and the Life, Accident and Health producer exams (effective September 15, 2026), which print the Code references beside each topic; the outlines are linked from the South Carolina Department of Insurance licensing page (https://doi.sc.gov/354/Licensing-CE; the outlines: https://www.pearsonvue.com/content/dam/VUE/vue/en/documents/publications/125010.pdf). Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the text of the law. Nothing comes from a testing vendor, a prep course or an exam question pool.

A South Carolina state insurance exam practice test on the state part
The combined exam has a general part of 100 scored questions and a South Carolina part of 30: 18 on law for all lines (the Department and its director, definitions, licensing, unfair practices, the guaranty association), 6 on life and 6 on accident and health. The groups follow that split.
Insurance license study guide, South Carolina: what is left out
Product knowledge and the Department's regulations the outline cites (replacement, Medicare supplement, long-term care, continuing education) are not asked. Each answer names its section of Title 38, so the bank works as a study guide to the statutes.
Free look on an individual life policy: ten days, twenty if it replaces a policy, thirty-one if sold by direct response (38-63-220).
Continuing education: 24 hours every two years, shown by the last day of the birth month (38-43-106).
A fine on a licensed producer tops out at $2,500, or $5,000 where the violation is wilful (38-2-10).
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the SC insurance exam?
The outlines effective September 15, 2026 give the Life, Accident and Health exam 100 scored general questions and 30 scored South Carolina questions, each part with 5 unscored pretest questions. Life alone and Accident and Health alone have 50 general and 25 state questions.
What score passes the South Carolina insurance exam?
The candidate handbook says the South Carolina Department of Insurance determines the passing score and that it is reported as 70 on a scale of 0 to 100, which is not a percent of questions. This page gives no pass or fail.
How long is a South Carolina insurance license good for?
Two years at a time. A producer's license continues on a biennial basis unless revoked or suspended, and is renewed by the last day of the licensee's month of birth, with continuing education met and the renewal fee paid (S.C. Code 38-43-110).
Are these the real South Carolina insurance exam questions?
No. They are our own, written from the South Carolina Code of Laws. This site has never seen the state exam, and the South Carolina Department of Insurance did not write or review them. Exam mode draws 30 questions, the size of the state part.
