SC MPJE study guide: one Act, section by section
Most questions come from the South Carolina Pharmacy Practice Act, Title 40, Chapter 43 of the Code of Laws. The controlled substance questions come from Section 44-53-360 and the prescription monitoring sections. Both were read on scstatehouse.gov on October 12, 2026 and are weighted as NABP's MPJE Competency Statements weigh the exam.
What is left out
The Board of Pharmacy's own regulations and federal law are not asked here; federal law has the federal pharmacy law page. Practice for an exam, not medical advice.
- Schedule II: a 31-day supply at most, void 90 days after issue. Schedules III to V: a 90-day supply (Section 44-53-360).
- One pharmacist supervises four technicians at most, and no more than two who are not state-certified (Section 40-43-86).
- Emergency refill: up to a 14-day supply, once in twelve months, with notice to the prescriber within ten days.
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the SC MPJE?
NABP's test day page gives 120 computer-based questions in 2.5 hours, picked adaptively and reported as pass or fail. Exam mode here uses the same count and clock.
What is a passing score on the South Carolina MPJE?
The Pharmacy Practice Act asks that an applicant have successfully passed the MPJE and names no number. NABP reports only pass or fail, so a percent on this page is practice, not a result.
Is there a free SC MPJE study guide?
The Act is free to read on scstatehouse.gov under Title 40, Chapter 43. This page asks it back as questions, and every explanation names the section, so a miss sends you to the right paragraph.
Does South Carolina still use the state MPJE?
Yes, when this page was checked. South Carolina was not among the Uniform MPJE jurisdictions NABP listed on October 12, 2026, and Section 40-43-80 still requires the NAPLEX and the MPJE. North Carolina is on that list.
Are these the real SC MPJE questions?
No. The 120 questions are this site's own, written from the public Code of Laws. Nothing is copied from the MPJE, the Pre-MPJE or NABP's sample items, and no South Carolina agency has reviewed the page.
