What the questions cover

The Act and the Committee, the 180-hour course or 250 supervised inspections, insurance, the identification card, renewal and the 40 units of continuing education. Then the pre-inspection agreement, the mandatory tools, what a report must give, advertising and vehicle lettering, and the list of prohibited practices.

What is left out

How building systems work and fail, which the national examination asks, and the system-by-system inspection lists of N.J.A.C. 13:40-15.16. Fees are left out as well.

  • The pre-inspection agreement goes out within one business day of the appointment and is signed before the inspection starts (N.J.A.C. 13:40-15.15).
  • A licensee carries the Committee's identification card and an 11-foot ladder to every inspection (N.J.A.C. 13:40-15.9, 15.17).
  • Advertising other than radio and television shows a street address, never a post office box (N.J.A.C. 13:40-15.18).
