The content outline splits the 40 into 18 questions common to all lines (the commissioner, definitions, licensing, marketing practices, the guaranty association), 11 for life only and 11 for health only. Taken alone, the Life exam and the Accident and Health exam each carry 34 law questions of 84.

A Kansas health and life insurance license study guide to the statutes

In Kansas a misstatement bars a claim only if it contributed to the loss (K.S.A. 40-418, 40-2205). Sections the 2026 Legislature changed are asked from the acts themselves. Topics that rest on Kansas Administrative Regulations, such as policy replacement, the right to return a policy and annuity suitability, are not asked.

  • A failed examination may be retaken after a wait of not less than seven days (K.S.A. 40-241).
  • Individual life policies carry a grace period of not less than 30 days; group life, 31 days (K.S.A. 40-420, 40-434).
  • Kansas group health continuation runs 18 months after at least three months of coverage (K.S.A. 40-2209).

How many continuing education hours does a Kansas insurance agent need?

A minimum of 18 C.E.C.s every two years, with at least three hours of instruction in insurance ethics, due by the last day of the agent's birth month (K.S.A. 40-4903 and 40-4902).

Is this life and health insurance practice test for KS the real exam?

No. The questions are our own, written from the Kansas Statutes. This site has never seen the state exam, and the Department did not write or review them. Exam mode draws 40 questions, the size of the combined exam's Kansas law parts.
