Statutes only: no rule of the Indiana Administrative Code was read. No question here was taken from a prelicensing course, a testing vendor's handbook or a question pool, so this bank does not cover the product knowledge the state exam also asks. The topics were compared on October 9, 2026 with the Indiana state-specific parts of the Life and the Accident & Health examination content outlines (Indiana Insurance Content Outlines, effective November 26, 2025), which print Indiana Code references beside each topic; the outlines and the Indiana Insurance Examination Candidate Handbook (August 2026) are linked from the Indiana Department of Insurance's examination procedure page, https://www.in.gov/idoi/licensing/resident-licensing/examination-procedure-checklist (the outlines: https://www.pearsonvue.com/content/dam/VUE/vue/en/documents/publications/121501.pdf). How it works

An unofficial Indiana life insurance practice test on the law alone: 112 free questions written from Title 27 of the Indiana Code, with accident and sickness law in its own group. Product types, underwriting and textbook theory are not asked.

Read the full guide

Using it as an Indiana life and health insurance study guide

Work one topic at a time: producer licensing and continuing education, life policy provisions, annuities and life settlements, accident and sickness provisions, unfair practices, then the guaranty association. Each answer names its IC section, so the missed pile turns into a reading list in Title 27.

What only Indiana's code says

A denied applicant has 63 days to demand a hearing. Twelve extra education hours may carry to the next renewal. A producer named beneficiary without an insurable interest holds a void designation. A candidate for the life line alone can skip the accident and sickness group.

  • Right to return: 10 days for an individual life policy (IC 27-1-12-43) and for an annuity contract (IC 27-1-12.6-5).
  • Grace periods: not less than 30 days on individual life (IC 27-1-12-6), 31 days on group life (IC 27-1-12-41).
  • Renewal takes 24 hours of continuing education, at least 3 on ethics for life and health producers (IC 27-1-15.7-2).

Questions and answers

Is this Indiana life insurance practice test free?

Yes. All 112 questions are free and unofficial. They were written from Title 27 of the Indiana Code, and every answer shows the section it rests on.

How many questions are on the Indiana life insurance exam?

The Indiana Insurance Content Outlines, effective November 26, 2025, give the life exam 50 scored general questions and 30 on Indiana law, plus unscored pretest questions. The candidate handbook of August 2026 allows 120 minutes and sets a passing score of 70.

How many hours of prelicensing education does Indiana require?

A certified course of not less than 20 hours for the life line, 20 for health, or 40 for life and health together (IC 27-1-15.7-5), completed not more than six months before the application is received (IC 27-1-15.6-6).

Are these the real Indiana insurance exam questions?

No. Each one was written for this site from the Indiana Code. The Indiana Department of Insurance did not write or review them, and the state examination is its own. Exam mode draws 30, the size of the Indiana part.
