What the Illinois law questions cover

Six groups: producer licensing and continuing education, life policy provisions the code requires, replacement and annuity contracts, accident and health provisions, unfair practices and penalties, and the guaranty association. Missed questions collect in their own pile.

Studying for life insurance alone

Set the topic filter to Life policy provisions, then to Replacement and annuity contracts. The producer licensing and guaranty association questions apply to both lines. Every answer shows its section of 215 ILCS 5.

  • Life grace period: 30 days or one month, with interest of no more than 6% a year (224).
  • Life free look: 10 days from delivery; a replacement with the refund notice gives 20 days (224).
  • Death proceeds earn 10% yearly interest unless paid within 31 days of the latest listed date (224).

Questions and answers

How many questions are on the Illinois life insurance test?

This page does not say. The code sections read for this bank set no length, time limit or pass mark; section 500-25 only requires both parts to be passed within 90 days of each other. Exam mode's 25 questions are only a set size.

How many continuing education hours does an Illinois insurance producer need?

24 hours of course study before each license renewal, under 215 ILCS 5/500-35. Three of those hours must be classroom or webinar ethics instruction, and the license terminates automatically when the requirement is not met.

How many pre-licensing hours does Illinois list for a life insurance license?

20 hours for the Life class, in the table of 215 ILCS 5/500-30, and 20 more for Accident and Health. Of each course, 7.5 hours must be completed in a classroom or webinar setting.

Are these the real Illinois life insurance exam questions?

No. This site has never seen the state exam. The questions were written from the Illinois Insurance Code, and the Illinois Department of Insurance did not write or review them.
