How this list was compiled: Colorado Revised Statutes 2026, Title 10 (Insurance), articles 1, 2, 3, 7, 16 and 20, read on October 9, 2026 in the copy the Office of Legislative Legal Services of the Colorado General Assembly posts for download (https://olls.info/crs/crs2026-title-10.htm, linked from https://leg.colorado.gov/agencies/office-legislative-legal-services/2026-crs-titles-download). The topics and the sections asked follow the Life and the Accident and Health "Colorado Specific" content outlines (State Statutes, Rules and Regulations; effective January 1, 2024), which print the statute references beside each topic; the outlines and the Colorado Insurance Licensing Candidate Handbook (July 2026) are on the exam page the Colorado Division of Insurance links from https://doi.colorado.gov/insurance-industry/for-producers/agents (the outlines: https://www.pearsonvue.com/content/dam/VUE/vue/en/documents/publications/120606.pdf). How it works
This unofficial Colorado life and health insurance practice test covers the Colorado Specific part of the Life and the Accident and Health producer exams: 86 of our own questions from Title 10 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. Not affiliated with the Colorado Division of Insurance.

A Colorado insurance license practice test on the state part
Each exam has a general part and a state part of 30 scored questions. The outline gives about two thirds of the state part to law common to every line (the commissioner, licensing, fiduciary duties, unfair practices) and the rest to life only or to sickness and accident only. The groups here follow that split.
Colorado insurance license study guide: what is left out
The general-knowledge part (policy types, riders, tax) and the Division's regulations the outline cites, such as Regulation 4-1-4 on replacement, are not asked. Every answer names its section of Title 10, so the bank works as a study guide to the statutes.
Suicide is no defense after the first policy year in Colorado, not the second (10-7-109).
Clean health claims: 30 calendar days if filed electronically, 45 if not; late payment adds 10 percent interest (10-16-106.5).
Premiums with no contractual due date go to the insurer within 45 days of receipt (10-2-704).
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the Colorado life and health insurance exam?
Life and Accident and Health are separate exams of two hours each. The outlines effective January 1, 2024 give each a general part of 50 scored questions and a state part of 30, plus 5 or 6 unscored pretest questions per part.
What is the passing score for the Colorado insurance exam?
The candidate handbook of July 2026 says the Division set the passing score and that results are scaled scores from 0 to 100, not a percent of questions. Numeric scores go only to candidates who fail. This page gives no pass or fail.
How many hours of prelicensing education does Colorado require?
At least fifty hours of an approved course for life insurance and fifty for sickness and accident, with at least three hours of each on insurance industry ethics (C.R.S. 10-2-201). The education comes before the written examination.
Are these the real Colorado insurance exam questions?
No. They are our own, written from the Colorado Revised Statutes. This site has never seen the state exam, and the Colorado Division of Insurance did not write or review them. Exam mode draws 30 questions, the size of one state part.
