How this list was compiled: Utah Code Title 31A (Insurance Code), chapters 2, 21, 22, 23a and 28, read in the chapter files the Utah Legislature publishes at https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/31A.html on October 9, 2026 (they carry the 2026 General Session amendments). The topics follow the Insurance Regulation section and the Utah items of the producer exam content outlines in the Utah Insurance Department Licensing Information Bulletin (effective September 25, 2025), which the Department links from https://insurance.utah.gov/licensees/producers/exam/ (the bulletin itself: https://www.prometric.com/files/ut-insurance/Utah-LIB.pdf). Utah life and health insurance practice tests by outline topic

The Department's Licensing Information Bulletin opens every producer outline with Insurance Regulation: 10 percent of the life exam, 7 percent of the accident and health exam and of the combined one. The six groups here ask that law and what Title 31A sets for topics further down the outline: insurable interest, standard policy provisions, replacement, Utah requirements for medical plans.

A Utah life insurance practice test and study guide

A life-only candidate needs four groups: licensing, life policy provisions, replacement and annuity sales, and marketing practices. Used as a life insurance license study guide to Utah state licensing and regulations, the bank links each answer to the section it rests on.

  • Individual health grace period: 15 days on weekly or monthly premiums, 30 days otherwise, and the policy is not in force meanwhile (31A-22-607).
  • Right to return: 10 days after delivery, 30 days for a replacement life policy or annuity (31A-22-423).
  • Proof of loss on a health claim: the policy's deadline may not be shorter than 180 days after the loss (31A-22-614).

Questions and answers

How many questions are on the Utah life and health insurance exam?

The Department's Licensing Information Bulletin, effective September 25, 2025, lists 100 questions in 2 hours for the life exam, the same for accident and health, and 150 questions in 2.5 hours for the combined exam. It prints no pass mark, so none is given here.

Does Utah require a prelicensing course before the insurance exam?

No. The Utah Insurance Department's exam page says Utah requires nothing before licensing by way of pre-licensing study and offers no study materials of its own. A candidate passes the exam first and applies for the license afterward.

How many continuing education hours does a Utah insurance producer need?

24 credit hours for every two-year licensing period, 3 of them ethics courses, with at least half through classroom hours (Utah Code 31A-23a-202). A nonresident producer satisfies Utah by meeting the home state's requirement.

Are these the real Utah insurance exam questions?

No. They are our own, written from Utah Code Title 31A. This site has never seen the state exam, and the Utah Insurance Department did not write or review them. The 25 questions drawn in exam mode are a set size, not the exam's length.
