The six parts of the outline

The outline has 60 scored questions: Department of Insurance 3, licensing 11, key definitions 11, bail bond basics 17, practices and procedures 10, law enforcement principles 8. The topics here keep those names and close to those shares.

The numbers to know

Late surrender fees step from 20 to 80 percent of the bond's face value between 120 and 365 days after notice, and the forfeiture after 365 days is 20 percent (IC 27-10-2-12).

What is left out

Statutes only. The department's rule, 760 IAC 1-6.2, is not covered, and outline terms no statute defines, such as arraignment, are not asked.

  • A license goes only to an individual and expires two years after the end of the month of issue (IC 27-10-3-1, 27-10-3-2).
  • Never sign a bond in blank, and collect the full premium at the approved rate (IC 27-10-4-4, 27-10-4-5).
  • No soliciting where prisoners are confined or in or near a courtroom (IC 27-10-4-2).

Questions and answers
