What the Connecticut part of the exam asks
The outline gives 18 of the Connecticut questions to law common to all lines: the Commissioner, definitions, licensing, agent duties, the guaranty association and marketing practices. Three go to premium financing, renewal and cancellation, binders and surplus lines, four to property and five to casualty.
Property and casualty law that is Connecticut's own
The property questions rest on the standard fire policy, which Connecticut writes into statute, and on the underwriting facility. The casualty questions cover uninsured motorist coverage, the assigned risk plan and workers' compensation. The facility's regulations and the flood program are not asked.
A suit on a fire policy must start within 24 months after the loss begins, and proof of loss is due in 60 days (38a-307).
Uninsured motorist limits of several cars are never added together, and the occupied car's coverage is primary (38a-336).
The guaranty association pays the part of a claim above $100, up to $500,000; workers' compensation claims are paid in full (38a-841).
