What the Ohio knowledge exam covers
The Ohio Nurse Aide Candidate Handbook of December 2025, read October 7, 2026, lists twelve subject areas and how many of the 79 questions come from each, from 9 on basic nursing skills to 5 on resident rights. This bank holds the same count in every area.
Timing and pass mark
Exam mode asks all 79 in 90 minutes and marks a pass at 70%, the handbook's figures for the knowledge exam.
Where the answers come from
Care facts were read in the MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia, residents' rights in 42 CFR 483.10 and 483.12, and Ohio rules in the Ohio Revised Code, the Ohio Administrative Code and the registry's own pages. Each of these STNA test questions names its page.
These questions practice the knowledge exam only, not the skill test before an RN test observer.
Questions and answers
Is this a free STNA practice test?
Yes. There is no charge and no sign-up. Every question shows the right answer, a short reason and the public page it was checked against.
How many questions are on the STNA state test?
79 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, and 70% or better passes the knowledge exam, by the Ohio candidate handbook of December 2025. A separate skill test must also be passed.
Is the STNA test the same as the Ohio CNA test?
Yes. Ohio's candidate handbook describes one nurse aide competency exam and calls the aide a CNA, while the testing company's Ohio page offers a guide to scheduling "your STNA test" beside one for "your CNA test". This page practices the knowledge part.
How many times can you take the STNA test in Ohio?
Three attempts at each part, knowledge and skill, within two years of finishing training. After that the handbook requires a new state-approved training program before another attempt.
Are these the real STNA test questions?
No. Federal rule 42 CFR 483.154 keeps the real question pool from being disclosed. These are our own questions, written from public sources to the handbook's subject areas, and the testing company's practice test was not used.
