How this list was compiled: Questions: Revised Statutes of Missouri, chapters 302, 303 and 304, read section by section on the Revisor of Statutes' own site (https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneChapter.aspx?chapter=302) on 2026-10-04. Each effective date quoted in a question or explanation is the one printed at the head of the section that day (for example 302.177, effective 28 Aug 2025, and 302.302, effective 28 Aug 2026). What a renewal applicant is tested on is section 302.173.1, effective 28 Aug 2018. Licence: Own work. Questions, answer choices and explanations were written for this site from the statute text; nothing is copied from the Missouri Driver Guide, a Department of Revenue or Highway Patrol test, or another practice test.
How it works
This unofficial Missouri license renewal practice test starts with road signs, because section 302.173 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri names a highway signs test for renewal applicants. Statute text was read on October 4, 2026. Pick a subject under Start from.

What the Missouri drivers license renewal test covers
Section 302.173.1 says a renewal applicant takes no examination other than a test of ability to understand highway signs and the vision test, unless the application, the conviction record or the director's records show good cause for the complete examination. The six sign topics here practice the first of those.
The 80 statute questions
Three more topics come from chapters 302 and 303: renewal and examination law, points, suspension and insurance, and sections amended in recent years with the effective date the Revisor prints. None repeats our Missouri permit bank.
Section 302.177: a license must be renewed on or before the expiration date shown on it.
Section 302.173.1: a license not renewed within six months after it expires means the complete examination.
After a round, Print with a tick on With answer key puts a test on paper in three parts.
Questions and answers
Is this the official MO drivers license renewal test?
No. This is an unofficial practice bank. Section 302.173.3 has members and employees of the Missouri State Highway Patrol conduct driver examinations, and the Department of Revenue issues the license. No question here is copied from either agency.
How many questions are on the Missouri renewal sign test?
We did not read a question count or pass mark on an official page on October 4, 2026, so this page states none and has no timed exam setting. Section 302.173.1 only names the kind of test.
Who renews in Missouri without any test?
Section 302.173.1 names active members of the Armed Forces, their adult dependents and active Peace Corps members, when the renewal application shows the previous license had not been suspended or revoked.
How long does a renewed Missouri license last?
Section 302.177, effective August 28, 2025, ends an ordinary license on the holder's birthday in the sixth year for applicants aged 21 to 69, and in the third year for applicants under 21 or over 69.
Where do the road sign questions come from?
From the Federal Highway Administration's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the national sign standard. They are the same sign set our state permit pages share. The statute questions are Missouri only.
