The broker's state portion

The Minnesota state content outline in the candidate information bulletin gives brokers four sections, and the bank follows their proportions: real estate brokerage license law, interests in real property, conveyance procedures and protection of parties, and financial instruments. Half the questions are license law. The general portion and its math are left out.

What a primary broker answers for

The license law questions lean on the broker's side of chapter 82: supervising each place of business, renewing salespersons' licenses, trust account notices and disbursement, override clauses and protective lists, the temporary broker's permit and the recovery fund's limits.

  • Trust funds are disbursed within ten business days after a transaction ends when the agreements set no time (82.75).
  • Designating a broker to supervise a branch does not relieve the primary broker of ultimate responsibility (82.73).
  • A six-month redemption period after foreclosure by advertisement rules out a deficiency judgment (582.30).
