How it works

What the real exams cover
Rule 60-03-01-05 has every commercial applicator, public applicator and dealer pass a core examination and be certified in at least one of seventeen classes. This bank is the North Dakota law behind them. Federal label and worker protection rules are on the pesticide applicator practice test.
Length and pass mark
Neither chapter prints a question count or a pass mark. A mock exam here is 25 questions, our number, and ends in a score with no verdict.
- Twenty-four hours appears twice: an application record is made within 24 hours, and an incident is reported within 24 hours.
Questions and answers
Is this the real North Dakota pesticide applicator test?
No. It is unofficial practice written for this site from the Century Code and the Administrative Code. The real exams are prescribed by the pesticide control board and given by NDSU Extension, and none of their questions are here.
How do I get a pesticide applicator license in North Dakota?
Rules 60-03-01-05 and 60-03-01-05.1 ask for age 18, an application, a passed core examination and certification in at least one class. NDSU Extension's page says to order the study materials, which explain how to set up an exam appointment at a county Extension office.
How long is a North Dakota pesticide certification good for?
Rule 60-03-01-05.1 says certificates expire on April 1 following the third anniversary of the year of certification. Holders recertify at least every third year by board-approved training, an examination, or both.
Can I retake the North Dakota pesticide exam if I fail?
Yes. Rule 60-03-01-05.1 lets any person who fails an examination retake it after three or more days. A private applicator candidate may be given no more than three examinations before attending another initial training course.
Does a commercial applicator need insurance in North Dakota?
Section 4.1-33-10 requires proof of $100,000 of financial responsibility: a notarized letter attesting to net assets, a performance bond or a general liability insurance policy. Right-of-way certification and some noxious weed work are exempt.
