How it works
This unofficial New Mexico alcohol study guide holds 92 practice questions from the Liquor Control Act and the division's rules, each naming its section. Approved providers teach the course and give its exam; this bank is state law only.

What the approved course covers, and what is here
Section 60-6E-5 lists six subjects for every approved program: alcohol's effects, alcohol with drugs, liquor and DUI law, recognizing problem drinkers, false documents, and alcohol-related birth defects. This bank drills the law only: the server permit, minors and identification, intoxicated persons, hours and penalties.
Exam mode uses the rule's 80 percent
15.11.31.8 NMAC counts a program as completed at eighty percent or higher on an approved test, which takes at least 20 questions from the division's list. Exam mode draws 25, this site's choice, and marks them against 80 percent.
Training comes within thirty days of being employed (60-6E-4); the permit lasts three years (60-6E-7).
Section 60-7B-2 accepts an expired government picture ID and waives asking when someone clearly looks older than thirty-five.
On-premises service runs 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.; package sales stop at midnight (60-7A-1).
Questions and answers
How long is a New Mexico alcohol server permit good for?
Three years from the date it was issued, under section 60-6E-7(E). 15.11.31.8 NMAC says servers complete a program every three years to obtain a permit. The permit is the property of the server, not the employer.
What score do you need to pass the New Mexico alcohol server test?
Eighty percent or higher on an approved test, under 15.11.31.8(B) NMAC. An approved test takes at least 20 questions from the division's list. A score here measures this bank of state law questions, not a provider's test.
How old do you have to be to serve alcohol in New Mexico?
Eighteen, in a place where meals are served and food is the primary source of revenue; bartenders and deliverers must be twenty-one (section 60-7B-11). 15.11.31.8 NMAC says a server aged 18 to 20 may only serve in a restaurant.
Is there a New Mexico alcohol license study guide for servers?
Servers hold a server permit, not a liquor license; the director issues it after an approved program (section 60-6E-7). This page is a study guide to the law behind that permit, with the section under every answer.
Are these the real New Mexico server permit test questions?
No. This site has never seen the division's question list or a provider's test. The questions were written from the Liquor Control Act and Title 15 NMAC, and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division did not write or review them.
