All were read on 2026-10-12; each question names its section. The course facts (who must take the class in person, home study, the 100% rule, ages) are the Nevada Department of Wildlife's own, read the same day on its Hunter Education page at https://www.ndow.org/get-outside/hunter-education/; that page and NRS 502.330 to 502.350 are the published outline this page follows. The department publishes no question count, pass mark or time limit for the class test, so none is given here. Licence: Own work. Questions, answer choices and explanations were written for this site from the text of the Nevada statutes and regulations and the facts on the department's public page; nothing is copied from a hunter education manual, a workbook, a study guide, an online course, a chapter review or an examination.

How it works

Unofficial practice for Nevada hunter education: our own questions from chapters 501 to 503 of the Nevada Revised Statutes and the wildlife regulations of the Nevada Administrative Code, each with its source. Law questions only.

Rules that are Nevada's own

A tag is punched the moment the hunter reaches the animal and attached before camp or the vehicle. Unless an exception applies, trail cameras are off limits from August 1 through December 31. Nobody camps within 100 yards of a water hole so that wildlife is kept from it. A person 12 or older who has never held a hunting license may buy an apprentice license and hunt beside a mentor without the course.

  • Finish 100% of the workbook or online course before the class.
  • A hunting accident with an injury or property damage is reported to the department within 30 days.

Questions and answers

How many questions are on the Nevada hunter safety test?

The Nevada Department of Wildlife does not publish a question count, a pass mark or a time limit for the class test, so this page gives none. Each of the 89 practice questions here shows its source.

Who needs hunter education in Nevada?

Anyone born after January 1, 1960, to obtain a hunting license, under NRS 502.330. A certificate from another state or a Canadian province counts, and so does an earlier hunting license that carries a hunter education number or mark.

Can you take Nevada hunter education online?

Students 18 and older can be certified online, the Department of Wildlife says. Students under 18 complete home study, by workbook or online, and then attend an in-person certification class with an adult.

Is this the official Nevada hunters safety test?

No. It is unofficial and not affiliated with the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The questions are our own, written from the Nevada Revised Statutes and the Nevada Administrative Code; none comes from the department's class, workbook or test.
